Gyulai Almásy Castle

Visitor Center

The Almásy-castle in Gyula is the history itself. Since its establishment, it has been the site of many important historical events. In the past, there was a lively social life between its walls, its rooms were occupied by monarchs, and Ferenc Erkel’s family delivered a recital in the halls of the castle.

After the war, the castle also housed a school, a dormitory and a nursery, and today it is an informative visitor center.

In the Almásy Castle in Gyula, permanent and temporary exhibitions can be viewed, its 13.5 meter tower offers an amazing panorama of the Gyula Castle, the castle and its garden, the Turkish Tower offers contemporary art exhibitions, and on Saturdays and several days of the year there are thematic programs.

The Almásy Castle Visitor Center of Gyula in Békés County is located in the center of Gyula, opposite the castle, next to the Castle Bath. The Visitor Center regularly hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions, concerts, concerts and performances. There are often free programs, guaranteed programs for families on Saturdays.
